Jaw Pain, Clicking or Muscle Tension?
Jaw discomfort can involve the jaw joint, chewing muscles, teeth or other factors. A structured assessment helps identify what should be checked and which next steps may be appropriate.
This page is for TMJ and jaw-pain concerns. Orthognathic jaw surgery is a separate service with a different assessment.
Consultation fee: ₹1,500 one time.
A systematic assessment
Look at the whole pattern
Assessment is guided by symptoms and examination. Not all jaw pain starts in the joint, and one treatment does not fit every patient.
01
Joint and movement
Review jaw movement, joint sounds, range and symptoms.
02
Muscles and teeth
Check chewing muscles, bite, tooth wear and related concerns.
03
History and daily factors
Discuss symptom pattern, sleep, habits, posture and relevant medical history.
Treatment options
Start with the cause and the least complex suitable step
Management depends on the findings. The clinician may discuss self-care, a splint, bite assessment, further investigation or referral where appropriate.
Use T-Scan or other tools only when they answer a clinical question; explain what they can and cannot show.
Experience · comfort · trust
Care planned around you
See how jaw joint, muscle and bite factors are looked at together, and why the simplest suitable step usually comes first.
Experience
Whole-pattern assessment
The consultation considers jaw movement, muscles, teeth, symptom pattern and relevant daily or medical factors.
Comfort
A measured approach
Recommendations follow the findings. Your clinician explains self-care, further assessment or other suitable next steps.
Trust
No one-size-fits-all claim
Jaw pain can have different causes. The assessment helps distinguish what may be contributing and whether referral is appropriate.
TMJ FAQs
Questions patients ask
Does jaw clicking always need treatment?
Not always. The need for assessment depends on symptoms, function and clinical findings.
Can TMJ pain cause headaches or neck discomfort?
Symptoms can overlap with other conditions. Assessment helps determine whether jaw-related factors may be contributing.
Is jaw surgery used for TMJ pain?
Jaw surgery is not the routine answer to TMJ symptoms. Orthognathic surgery and TMJ care are evaluated separately.
